A magnificent murder mystery musical opens soon!

Calling all fans of Clue, Only Murders in the Building, and other quirky whodunits! Curtains opens next weekend, and this show-within-a-show is not to be missed! 

About the play: It’s the brassy, bright, and promising year of 1959. Boston’s Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage, the entire cast and crew become suspects. It is up to a local fast-talking detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan, to save the show, solve the case, and maybe even find love, all without getting killed. 

Packed with glorious tunes from the legendary songwriting team of Kander & Ebb (Cabaret, Chicago, etc.), Curtains is a witty and hilarious musical whodunit that you won’t want to miss!

Curtains runs August 11-27 in RLT’s Sutton Theatre. Showtimes are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 3:00pm. The show runs about 2.5 hours, including one intermission.

Class registration opens tomorrow!

Registration for our Fall 2023 classes opens tomorrow, Tuesday, August 1! We have a full slate of classes lined up for youth ages 2-18 and several adult classes as well, including an offering specifically for adults 55+. There is truly something for everyone, whether you’re brand new to theatre or a familiar face at RLT!

Our fall classes are broken into two six-week sessions. Session 1 runs September 13 - October 22, and Session 2 runs November 1 - December 17 (no classes the week of Thanksgiving).

Welcome Michele!

Earlier this month, RLT’s Board of Directors appointed Michele Weathers as the Interim Executive Producer of the organization. In this temporary capacity, Weathers will collaborate with the RLT staff and board to oversee the business and artistic operations for the theatre. She will begin as Interim Executive Producer on August 4, 2023, allowing for one week of overlap with exiting Executive Producer Heather Strickland. Visit our website for more information!
